Homes for Haringey’s Repairs Services division has just entered into an innovative and cost effective agreement with window and door maintenance company Mila Maintenance.
The specialist company is carrying out planned cyclical maintenance and repair on windows and doors in nearly 1400 individual properties across the London Borough, whilst at the same time training the Repairs Services division’s own staff to be able to carry out the repairs themselves in the future.
This, says Adi McCalla, the Specialist Works Manager within Hcommercial property maintenance servicearingey Repairs Services responsible for the contract, will maximise the return on the investment by Homes for Haringey and increase the skills levels within its own team.
Mila Maintenance first began providing specialist window and door maintenance services direct to Homes for Haringey in 2008 and since then the spectrum of work has included risk assessment surveys, cyclical preventative maintenance and hardware repair and replacement designed to ensure the safety and security of tenants.
It had built up a good relationship with Homes for Haringey, meeting all of the performance targets set and demonstrating a complete understanding of the very specific requirements of working within occupied properties.
“Homes for Haringey recognises the importance of keeping the windows and doors in all our properties up to the prescribed standard and, in partnership with Mila Maintenance, we have put together a programme which will enable us to go on doing that as efficiently and effectively as possible. By carrying out regular maintenance of the mechanical components, we can reduce the impact of wear and tear and prolong the serviceable life of the windows.”
