I wanted to add my thoughts about the importance of Fire Door Safety Week 2021. We all instinctively know the importance of ensuring that fire safety prevention and containment measures are in place, nowhere more so than in high rise living accommodation and other multi-occupancy residential living spaces.
New legislation, new rules and a greater understanding of areas of responsibility are coming to the fore, which are all positives but nevertheless, all of us involved in this field need to continually push the message; there can be no complacency and no lessening of standards.
From the point of Mila Maintenance and Installation we are constantly reviewing what we do and how we do it, seeking areas to improve – as a specialist main contractor and subcontractor, it’s our duty to ensure we have high standards – this is our culture, our ethos, our DNA.
Our starting point is only to offer products tested and accredited to the highest standards, and through regular contact with our key supply chain partner Sentry Doors we ensure this. Only products tested to the limit are taken to our clients. Our specialist site teams are all fully accredited to BM Trada Q Mark standards, for installation, maintenance and fire stopping.
Our mission statement is a commitment to keeping people safe and secure in their homes and the more organisations that embrace the same principle the better. Being safe from the impacts of fire is the most basic expectation for residents living in the nation’s social housing and private rented accommodation, and we know this view is shared without question by those who own and manage those buildings and homes.
Together we can all play a part, and it’s why we are fully behind Fire Door Safety Week, and why we will continue to do everything we can to help raise awareness of this very important issue.
