ASSA ABLOY appointed two of their existing management team to oversee the day to day running of the Mila Maintenance business. Focus on Service, Quality and Compliance
Our focus has been very much in the following key areas:
- Service – how do we improve the service we offer to our customers and their tenants?
- Process – what do we need to change to improve the service?
- Compliance – are we fully compliant with Environmental, Health and Safety etc?
- New systems
Service improvements to increase first time fix.
We have introduced new way of working to ensure our team arrive at the job with as much information as possible. This helps us to work towards an improved target of jobs completed on first visit. This is really important to our business, moreover it’s even more important to the residents. A second visit means disruption for the resident thus our focus is very much on fix first time.
Process improvements to enable more effective working.
We have good systems to control our business, but they were not always allowing us to work effectively. Small changes often bring big benefits and we’re working through a series of small, but important process changes.
Compliance, our commitment to customers.
Providing installation and maintenance to the social housing sector, Mila Maintenance works across a broad spectrum of properties. These can range from traditional pre and post-war houses to more modern high rise buildings.
Compliance with all regulations is an important part of our business. We ensure our team is correctly trained and certified. As a result they are competent whether it is fire door inspections, installing fire or residential doors or window maintenance.
Large investment in Engineer and Management Training.
Recent training includes BM Trada Fire Door training, various health and safety training updates including manual handling, working at height and other essential H&S training.
Our commitment to our employees and customers is to always work safely and consequently to deliver a fully compliant installation service.
Access to New Systems to offer customers.
Finally, as an ASSA ABLOY group company Mila Maintenance now has access to some of the excellent tools available through ASSA ABLOY. Our Opening Studios software which can be used to create a database of doors and windows for an existing building or schedule doors and windows for a new building. Opening studios enables our surveyors to provide a complete digital survey. First, we can add discreet RFID asset tags inside the door jamb. Then we scan tags on future surveys to check the history of the door and if maintenance is required provide a complete schedule of the door and hardware.
Opening Studios forms an integral tool to ensure safety and compliance inspections are carried out or scheduled correctly. Additionally Opening Studios can support the “Golden Thread” of data for safety critical doors and windows.
