Forming great relationships with our clients and the residents in whose homes or other buildings we work is critical to the success of our business, and there is no better way for us to show that than by sharing their thoughts. This was a site that had the potential to be difficult to manage because of the number of parties that were going to be impacted whilst the works were carried out, but I was really happy that residents and our school clients were kept informed throughout the programme and that health and safety considerations were professionally managed.
I am delighted with the way the replacement fire door programme at Market Hill flats was completed with so little disruption to our residents. Over three blocks each with 19 floors, and with the added requirement to fit communal access fire doors as well as residential ones, the potential for a negative impact on our residents was significant. Through close liaison with all parties Mila Maintenance and Installation ensured that residents were not inconvenienced at all by the works and were able to go about their day to day lives without disruption. The welfare of our residents is always uppermost in our minds

Ensuring the highest standard of fire safety is maintained in our high rise building is of the utmost importance to us, and is something we don’t take lightly. That’s why we carry out regular checks, install safety equipment and make these kind of upgrades.
Fire doors were already installed at Market hill as they are extremely important in helping to control the spread of fire throughout the building if the worst ever did happen, but we thought it was time to modernise them.
For a number of years I had been considering the wasteful nature of replacing the whole window when only certain components were worn out. Mila Maintenance and Installation offered a refurbishment service which addressed that issue.
Following the success of our first project I am going to look into the feasibility and savings possible if this model was expanded across all our stock.
I visited site and immediately knew we needed the help of a specialist contractor. Without knowing the finer technical points of the issues I knew it was not something we could take on as an in house reactive repairs team and without a solution we would be looking at a full replacement scheme.

We were aware of a very similar problem to ours which Gentoo in Sunderland had faced. When we spoke to them and visited site; they then pointed us in the direction of specialist contractor Mila Maintenance and Installation.

The training that Mila Maintenance and Installation is providing our own staff is key to the value we are receiving from the the contract.
Our staff are receiving on the job training in our own properties which, in the longer term will be of much more benefit to us that college based training.
