Project Overview
The client, IQ Student Living, had a communal entrance door that needed replacing at Weston Hall, a residential block of accommodation for students on the outskirts of Manchester.
The door in need of replacement was an old fire exit which was being used as the regular rear entrance as traffic was so high. Students used a fob system for access the accommodation, however the door was in poor condition and was not secure.
The work was carried out in May 2020 in the middle of the first UK lockdown using newly developed COVID Safe Systems of Working and procedures.

Project Information
Access to the adjoining property was required to work on the door in need of replacement. This was a nursery so coordination was required to ensure that works could be done safely with no risk to the children attending the nursery, or the staff.
We recommended replacement of the existing door with an FD30 Entrance Door with side Panel to provide protection in the event of fire to both the students living in Weston Hall, and the nursery next door.
